Launching a New Platform for Burnout Recovery Content

While this website will remain the central hub of all of the various disparate things I’m working on, I am trying to create communities and hubs for people who are interested in some of these items, but not all of them.  (The Patreon community is intended to focus on my mythology, fairy tale, unicorn, and storytelling content – Follow me there if that’s your jam!)

Launching Today!

Today, I’m launching a community on Thinkific for the Burnout Recovery content I’ve been creating.  The offering there right now is a “minimum viable product” version. It’s a basic community area and a single free course for anyone who is in the burnout recovery process. The course is about an hour long, and it is everything I wish people knew about burnout recovery – sort of a high-level glimpse of what’s in the book I’ve written.

In addition to these online trainings, I’m also dipping my toe into offering 1-on-1 burnout recovery coaching services, and in-company workshops for large groups.

It’s a Learning Process

The free course I’m going live with today is by no means perfect. I’m posting it anyway, lumps and all. The reason I’m bringing this up is because I really appreciate seeing creators give themselves grace for trying new things and learning new skills.

From this first class, I’ve learned:

  • How to use different audio and video editing tools (I switched mid-stream to Camtasia and Audiate)
  • That I need to record the segments in smaller, separate videos for easier editing and uploading
  • Also, the courses are designed for multiple short videos, not me rambling for 10 minutes at a time per lesson
  • I learned how to create and locate further reading and downloadable resources
  • I realized that my usual Powerpoint decks are not quite the way to go with this platform

I will be applying these lessons learned to make more polished, professional courses that are not free.

More Burnout Courses are Coming Soon

In the coming weeks, I will be creating some paid courses and offering them on Thinkific. These will be covering what managers, HR, and C-suite leaders can do to prevent employee burnout in their own organizations and teams. I had an entire section in the book about this, and ultimately decided it was better placed somewhere else.  The idea here is to share these insights in an asynchronous learning platform, rather than writing a second book!

The book itself is not yet available, but this Thinkific community will be the first to know about it. This is also where excerpts, exercises, and other things from the book will be shared in the meantime.

I also intend in the coming months to create a separate e-newsletter for burnout-related content, specifically.  That link to subscribe is here.  I figure someone who is burned out and looking to recover may not give two hoots about my latest anthology publication or videos about ritual design, so I’m segmenting the audiences a little bit.
