“Bull-Headed” Ariadne retelling in Coffin Bell Journal

Finally, my retelling of the Ariadne myth, “Bull Headed” was published in the Labyrinths issue of Coffin Bell Journal (Volume 4, Issue 2). It’s available for free online.

About Coffin Bell Journal

About “Bull-Headed”

I originally wrote this retelling of the Ariadne myth for a class in graduate school. I wanted to explore the scene on the beach of Naxos, in particular, as I felt like it was the most important part of the story. As I dug into research about the minotaur and Dionysus, I learned that there’s a lot of overlap between them. Dionysus even has an epithet taurokephalos, which means “bull-headed!”

I set this retelling in the modern world that is used in my novel and novellas addressing other myths. As those become available, the interconnections between these various stories will be apparent to careful readers.
