Flame Tree Press has launched an anthology of stories retelling the tales of the Ancient Greek figure of Medusa as a part of their Myths, Gods & Immortals series. According to the publisher, this series “brings together the new and the ancient, familiar stories with a fresh and imaginative twist.” I am super stoked that my story “The Wise Look for All the Stories” will be included in this volume!

About the Anthology

This hardback book is so cool. It has red foil edges along the pages, about 110 pages of history and mythology deep dives on Medusa, and then a series of retellings and 16 stories. (Not to mention the fact that this publication gave me my own author page on the Simon and Schuster website, which was oddly exciting to discover.)
About The Story
As many of you know, I have a draft of a novel that retells Greek mythology. I’m still working on those rewrites, but I’m also writing short stories and novellas set in the same universe. Like the Ariadne story that was published in Coffin Bell Journal, this tale is one of those.
This story follows the journey of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, to dig deeper into the various tales told about herself and about Medusa. She uncovers some interesting mysteries, and ultimately has to face the gorgon and her two sisters on their island lair.
