Introducing Oneiroglossy Press

This month, I’ve created a new website, and a new small press. This is in conjunction with a romance writer, Diane H. Fralick, who is in the process of self-publishing a number of romance and romantasy books.

Why Start a Small Press?

Because I want to be able to create anthologies that highlight the work of the writers who work with me in my workshops. I want to have a place for calls for submissions, and to allow them a “home” for submitting work. I wanted a business entity that could support this vision.

My goal is to have the first anthology up and going in the second half of 2027.

Why Start It Now?

Well, I’m republishing and relaunching my three existing self-published titles this year and next. I want to do those under the umbrella of the press. It lends the press a little more legitimacy, basically.

Also, Diane’s publication timeline also required that the press be up sooner rather than later.

What Does “Oneiroglossy” Mean?

I wrote about this word on Patreon, and I’ve posted that to the press website. You can check that out here. In short, it’s the language of the unconscious – the syntax of dreams, myths, and fairy tales.

How do I say Oneiroglossy?

Oh-Knee-Ro-Gloss-ee

Will You Be Publishing Works By Other Writers?

I want to publish short story anthologies ASAP. But I won’t be publishing longer book-length work by other writers in the foreseeable future.

Diane and I need to really understand what it takes to sell our own work before we go trying to do that for someone else. Also, the contracts, legalities, payments, etc all get way more complicated when there’s another author involved. We’re no where near doing that.

In the long, long, long term, if we were to go that route, I could see us prioritizing the work of people we know through the anthologies – like sort of use the short fiction as a testing ground. I know of many other presses that do that, and I respect it.
